AI Will Detect Traffic Violations On Mumbai-Pune Expressway & Issue Challans

Mumbai-Pune Expressway Using AI

Being the first of its kind in Maharashtra, this AI-powered Intelligent Traffic Management System will

harnesses the power of artificial intelligence and data analytics to streamline vehicle flow and bolster road safety.

With the help of this advanced technology, it enables automatic detection of various traffic violations.

Hence, ensuring a safer and more efficient driving experience for commuters.

The best part about this implementation is that the RTO will monitor the system from the control room at Lonavala.

When it comes to the ITMS, one of the key features is its ability to automatically recognize vehicle number plates which empowers the police to issue e-challans for traffic infractions.

This automated process will definitely help in determining the potential violators.

But, it will also facilitate swift and effective enforcement of traffic regulations.

How Does ITMS Will Help?

This system will surely succeed in enhancing the road safety and traffic flow as this system detects violations, issues e-challans, and reduces congestion.

This comprehensive surveillance and enforcement are guaranteed with more than 200 AI- enabled CCTV cameras along the 95-kilometer stretch.

Earlier, questions were raised over tractor’s entry on Mumbai-Pune expressway despite ban & CCTVs.

That time allegations of poor surveillance on Mumbai-Pune expressway emerged when a tractor, banned on the road, traveled 5.7km unnoticed.

But, this incident has raised concerns over CCTV camera effectiveness and manual checks.

Although authorities defended their actions, they still had to face the criticism from the public.
