Past troubles

The smartphone brand, which was a sub-brand of Huawei at the time, ran into trouble in the US when the government restricted Huawei from using Google services.

Reports suggested that Honor would leave the Indian smartphone market as well, but the company denied those claims.

It continued to sell new products in India, although it shifted focus to smartwatches and tablets like the Honor Watch ES and the Honor Pad 5.

Honor 9A was the last smartphone it released in India, a budget-friendly device priced below Rs 10,000.

Return to India

Honor will work with its India partner and Noida-based PSAV Global to distribute its smartphones in India.

A trademark named “Honor for Knights” with Sheth’s name mentioned was discovered recently.

He is accompanied by 15 employees along with a few top executives that have already joined HonorTech after leaving Realme.

Honor 90 smartphone range

Both models feature full-HD+ (1,200 x 2,664 pixels) curved OLED displays with 120Hz refresh rate and 3,840Hz pulse width modulation (PWM) dimming.

They come with triple rear camera setups led by a 200-megapixel primary camera, 12MP + 2MP rear cameras and a 50MP selfie camera.

The handsets pack a 5,000mAh battery.

Honor 90 has 66W wired charging support, whereas the Honor 90 Pro supports 90W wired charging.

Arrival

Gaurav Chaudhary, also known as Technical Guruji, said that the Honor 90 will be unveiled in India in September.

It has already been launched in four different colors globally, including Peacock Blue, Diamond Silver, Midnight Black, and Emerald Green

Pricing

The Honor 90 was launched in China earlier this year alongside the flagship-grade Honor 90 Pro, priced at CNY 2,499 (roughly Rs. 29,160) and CNY 3,299 (roughly Rs. 38,000), respectively.

However, it is speculated to cost around Rs 45,000 in India.
