So, let’s go through the four upcoming midsize electric SUVs with 450-500 km or above range which soon will grace the Indian Automobiles industry.
1. Tata Curvv EV
It appears that Tata Motors is all set to launch its upcoming the Curvv EV in the coming months.
After the recent launch of the Punch EV, this will become the second Tata model which will be built on the Acti.ev platform.
Prior to this, this concept was showcased at the 2023 Auto Expo.
Not only that, the test mules have been spotted testing multiple times in India.
This EV from Tata will be offered with two battery options having a larger one capable of over 500 km range on a single charge.
Its interior will be sporting some cool features including a large touchscreen infotainment system, a digital console, multiple airbags, Level 2 ADAS, a 360-degree camera and much more.
2. Maruti Suzuki eVX
This line up from Maruti is the production-ready Maruti Suzuki eVX which is set to make its inaugural appearance later in the current year.
Besides this, it will also have a Toyota counterpart anticipated to follow suit in early 2025.
This midsize electric SUV from Maruti is anticipated to be offered with two battery options.
In addition to this, it will have both front-wheel-drive (FWD) and all-wheel-drive (AWD) configurations.
Considering its 60 kWh battery pack, it is claimed to have a range around 550 kilometers.
3. Mahindra XUV.e8
This upcoming EV from Mahindra will be built on the INGLO platform, hence sharing multiple design elements with the XUV700.
The arrival of the Mahindra XUV.e8 is expected in the Mahindra showrooms by the end of 2024.
Mahindra has claimed that XUV.e8 will have a driving range over 450 km.
Notably, the SUV will adapt plenty of features from its ICE sibling as well.
4. Hyundai Creta EV
The electric version of Hyundai Creta is expected to showcase a unique exterior while drawing design influence from it.
When it comes to release, the Hyundai Creta’s electric variant is likely to be available by the end of 2024, with LG Chem supplying its batteries.
Besides this, there are speculations that its front-wheel-drive electric motor might be shared with the entry-level Kona Electric.
