In the third quarter of FY25, TCS promoted more than 25,000 workers, increasing the fiscal year’s total number of promotions to over 1,10,000, or about 20% of its workforce.
The corporation reversed the headcount gain observed in the previous two quarters by reporting a net decrease of 5,370 workers during the quarter.

The company’s third-quarter FY25 report states that TCS now has 6,07,354 employees.
Milind Lakkad, chief human resources officer, said, “We promoted over 25,000 associates this quarter, which brought the total promotions this financial year to more than 110,000. We continue to invest in employee upskilling and overall well-being.”
Lakkad also stated, “Our campus hiring for the year is going according to plan and preparations are afoot to onboard a higher number of campus hires next year.”
Attrition Rate Increased To 13%
From 12.3 percent in the prior quarter to 13 percent this quarter, the attrition rate increased little.
So far this fiscal year, employees have accrued 38 lakh competencies and completed over 4 crore learning hours.
The company’s investments in partnerships, upskilling, and generative and artificial intelligence innovations are crucial for seizing future opportunities, according to CEO and managing director K Krithivasan.
In Q3 of FY25, TCS reported a consolidated net profit of ₹12,380 crore, which was 12% higher than the same period the previous year.
While the company’s reported revenue increased 6% to ₹63,973 crore, Moneycontrol estimated TCS’s Q3 net profit at ₹12,308 crore and revenue at ₹64,218 crore.
TCS shares ended the day of the results at ₹4,046 on the BSE, down almost 1.5%.
TCS Planning 25,000 Seater Office In Bengaluru For Work From Office Model
The Chief Financial Officer Samir Seksaria said that the Indian IT giant, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) is looking to create a capacity of over 25,000 seats in Bengaluru over the long term on a land parcel acquired recently.
Further, Seksaria stated that the company is planning to put the capacity to expand in Whitefield, Bengaluru, a prime area of the IT capital, on the occasion of the Tata Group company announcing Rs 1,625-crore land buy deal last week.
So far, the IT service provider has about 70,000 employees in various offices across Bengaluru.
