Zomato Ordered To Pay Heavy Compensation

The food delivery and one stop service for food, Zomato has been ordered to pay Rs 8,362 as compensation to a customer after the company failed to deliver the order.

According to him, the food delivery service has failed to deliver the food worth Rs 362.

Further, the student has allegedly mentioned that Zomato did not return the refund.

So, the student who had ordered food through Zomato, neither received the order nor the refund for his food.

On that night, the student said that he placed two separate orders the same night.

He did not get any of them delivered.

So, the consumer court in Kerala has ordered the delivery company to pay Rs 8,362 as compensation to the student.

Not The First Time

What About Zomato?

In its defense, Zomato said that Krishnan was not available to collect his food order.

Further, the food delivery service provider claimed that there was an issue with the address of Krishnan and he was told by the company to correct his address in the Zomato app.

In response, Krishnan mentioned in his complaint that he spoke to the owner of the restaurant.

According to him, Zomato indulges in similar unfair practices during the rush hours or rainy season.

That is why, Krishnan asked for the refund amount and a compensation of Rs 1.5 lakh as well as Rs 10,000 as cost of court proceedings.
