The rain has wreaked havoc in India’s high tech city as IT professionals were forced to take tractor rides to reach office.

Notably, these employees mostly come from Yemalur area of Bengaluru, which is near HAL airport.

If you are wondering why these employees were forced to opt for this mode of transportation, the answer is the rain showers have caused traffic snarls.

Further, shading more light on the subject, an employee said they cannot take so many leaves from their office, also their work is getting affected due to rains.

Multiple Areas Affected

Besides this, the rains have also impacted other areas such as Koramangala where basements of shops and apartments got flooded due to the downpour.

Considering the waterlogging across the city, the employees of companies like Wipro, Amazon, Swiggy, Goldman Sachs and Flipkart located in Bengaluru were forced to work from home.

Regarding the same issue, the Outer Ring Road Companies Association (ORRCA), representing IT and banking firms in Bengaluru wrote to Karnataka CM Basvaraj Bommai.

They mentioned that flooding caused losses worth Rs 225 crore on a single day and urged him to address infrastructure issues.

Further adding, “Member companies had to trigger emergency business community plans and work from home or pass on critical work to locations outside of Bengaluru and Karnataka, thus causing reputational and economic damage to the city and the state.”

Regarding rain , the state government is in consultation with IT companies and waterlogging-related issues, CM Bommai said.

He said that compensation and other related damages are at the center stage of these discussions.
