Recently, a 55-year-old tea stall owner from Rahatni posted the details of the his two-wheeler worth Rs90,000 for sale on an online marketplace. He wanted to sell off this vehicle as he wanted to raise the money to fund his daughter’s study abroad. However, he lost his motorcycle to a fraud on Saturday as the man fleed the scene with his bike.

Buyer Approached After Seeing the Online Marketplace Sale Details

As per the police, the buyer approached the man after seeing the advertisement and rode away with the two-wheeler on the pretext of a test ride. 

The owner of the two wheeler, after sometime tried to call the number of the person, but as the buyer buyer” approached the man after seeing the advertisment and rode away with the two-wheeler on the pretext of a test ride and approached the Sangvi police and filed a complaint.

Sell Two-wheeler to Raise Money for Daughter’s Study Abroad

The officer from the Sangvi police said that “He wanted to raise money for his daughter’s study abroad. Hence, he decided to sell the motorcycle he had gifted to his son”.

He added that “On Saturday, around 9.30am, a man called the complainant and showed his interest in buying motorcycle. He also told the complainant to share his address so he could visit and check the two-wheeler”.

As per the officer “Within half-an-hour, the person reached there on a motorcycle. He parked his motorcycle near the tea stall and took the complainant’s motorcycle for a test ride”.

There have numerous such incidents across the country when such incidents happen, however they have been nabbed by the police as well.
