We recently reported that Mukesh Ambani has announced that Reliance Jio will roll out 5G across India, this Diwali.

Jio To Launch JioAirFibre For True 5G Network Across India

Mukesh Ambani confirmed during the 45th AGM that Reliance will infuse a record Rs 2 Lakh crore into Jio for developing a faster and more capable 5G network across India.

JioAirFibre is a gateway solution that will supply “true 5G” services in homes and offices wirelessly.

When Jio 5G services are officially launched at the end of October, the device will complement them.

Jio plans to launch 5G services in key Indian cities such as Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, and Kolkata by Diwali, or the end of October 2022. By December 2023, pan-India coverage is expected to be available.

The company will provide stand-alone 5G services that are not dependent on the 4G network, or “true 5G,” as Ambani referred to it during his speech.

Jio is also collaborating with Google on “ultra-affordable” 5G-ready smartphones, according to Reliance Industries Limited chairman Mukesh Ambani. In addition, the company has partnered with Qualcomm to develop 5G solutions in India, which it intends to launch globally.

What is JioAirFibre?

JioAirFibre is described as a single-device solution capable of relaying fibre-like Gigabit-speed internet to users over the air without the use of wires. JioAirFibre, like its other hardware, is being developed in-house.

As per Ambani, “With the simplicity of JioAirFibre, hundreds of millions of homes and offices can be connected to ultra-high-speed broadband in a very short period. With it, India can rank among the Top-10 nations, even for fixed broadband.”

During the AGM, Mukesh Ambani declared that the launch of 5G will open up a new world of opportunities, and possibilities.

Once the 5G is launched, around 100 million homes across India will be converted into smart homes, with next-gen services and offerings.

As per reports, Jio will deploy ‘Stand-Alone 5G’, which is the world’s most advanced and fastest 5G network, which will have zero dependencies on their existing 4G network.
