Mahindra Introduces Two New EV Brands, Five EV Concepts

One of the two EV brands showcased by the company is an XUV with the Twin Peak logo in Copper, and it will represent all the electric XUV cars; the other one is the all-new electric-only brand called BE, which is short for Born Electric.

Mahindra has also displayed the new BE.05, BE.07, and BE.09 electric SUVs along with XUV.e8 or XUV 800. The XUV.e8 or XUV 800 will be launched officially by the end of 2024, as per the company. Also, the production version of BE.05, BE.07, and BE.09 electric SUVs will be introduced beginning in October 2025.

Anish Shah, Managing Director & CEO, Mahindra Group said, “Mahindra will offer customers future-ready technology, head-turning design, world-class products and the benefits of global partnerships. By 2027, we expect that a quarter of the SUVs we sell will be electric.”

Mahindra has stated that all of its new SUVs are built on its new Heartcore design philosophy, which gives them a bold and ‘electrifying presence’ while also retaining the iconic Mahindra core SUV heritage.

Mahindra’s New SUVs Built On INGLO Platform

Mahindra’s recently unveiled electric vehicles are built on the modular INGLO platform. Previously, the company collaborated with Volkswagen to leverage its expertise in electric vehicles. Furthermore, Mahindra’s INGLO platform, which underpins its new SUVs, incorporates components from VW’s MEB platform. According to Mahindra, this platform has one of the lightest skateboards and class-leading high energy-density batteries.

The company has revealed that its new EV platform will support features such as augmented reality-enabled heads-up display, 5G network capability and Over-the-Air updates, and edge-to-edge screen.

The company has also released a press statement, wherein, it states, “INGLO boasts a complex neural network of built-in intelligence that performs millions of reactions and decisions per second.”

Mahindra has stated that all its electric SUVs will meet ‘highest vehicle safety norms.’

Mahindra also states that its EVs will be designed for the highest battery safety standards and will not be restricted to regulatory compliance. For increased safety, all of its eSUVs will include a structural cage around the passenger cabin. The frontal design of the car’s body will also be improved with three load paths and a multi-piece dash panel with reinforcement. Mahindra adds that its eSUVs are tested at the world’s largest battery development and testing facility. According to the company, its EV platform – INGLO has futureproofed up to L2+ autonomy thanks to its 5 Radars-1 Vision ADAS architecture.
