Ather Sold 77 E-Scooters Every Day In July! Sold 2389 E-Scooters In 31 Days, Sales Up By 24% YoY

Ather Energy recorded a sale of 2389 scooters in India last month. This is a 24 percent YoY growth in July 2022 as compared to the same period last year. 

The company has recently launched the Gen 3 450X and 450 Plus electric scooters as well. 

Additionally, last month, Ather Energy expanded its retail footprint to three new markets (Mumbai, Kollam, and Dehradun), bringing its total to 38 Indian cities and 45 experience centres.

Ather’s Sales Increase 24% Year on Year

In July 2022, Ather’s sales increased by 24% year on year, as compared to 1,926 units sold in the same period last year. On a month-to-month basis, however, Ather’s sales fell by 26%, as it sold 3,231 electric scooters in June 2022. 

According to Ather Energy, the majority of sales in July 2022 occurred in the last ten days because the company’s production line was shut down for a few weeks to facilitate the transition to the newly launched Gen 3 Ather 450X.

Ravneet S. Phokela, Chief Business Officer, Ather Energy, said, “July was an exciting month for Ather as we launched the next generation of our 450 series of scooters – the 450X Gen 3. The new scooter is the result of our larger product philosophy of building an ever-improving scooter that will enable consumers to enjoy the proven performance of an Ather 450X with a longer range.” 

Majority Sales Reduced Last Month

As per him, the majority of the sales came in the last ten days of the month, because the company’s production line was shut down for a few weeks to facilitate the transition to the new product. He also said that they are confident that the new scooter will enable us to increase our market share in the coming months.

Ather Energy has now launched the Gen 3 450X and 450 Plus electric scooters, priced at Rs 1.39 lakh and Rs 1.17 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), respectively.

A best-seller in its category, the Ather 450X packs in some of the best features. At present, Ather 450X ex-showroom starts at Rs 1,32,426 in Delhi. The Ather electric scooter takes 3 hours 35 minutes to get an 80 percent charge and offers a driving range of 116 km on a full charge.
