To celebrate the 75th anniversary of Independence Day in India, the Government has come up with the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign, which will aim to hoist the Tiranga atop 20 crore houses across the country for three days from Aug 13-15.

Home Minister Amit Shah reviewed the preparations of the campaign and discussed the initiative with the chief ministers of different states and administrators of all states and union territories through video-conferencing, in conjunction with the participation of political parties, elected representatives, NGOs, PSUs, private companies and others.

This will be a first-of-its-kind programme/initiative taken by the government, which will instill the spirit of patriotism among children and the youth, and familiarize them with the martyrdom attained by many during the country’s freedom struggle.

The ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ initiative is one such programme taken forth by the Modi government under the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’, an important initiative that will run until Aug 15, 2023.

Speaking of the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign, the tricolour will be hoisted atop 20 crore houses across the country from Aug 13-15 via public participation, with participation seen by over 100 crore people in the programme.

“According to the statement, Mr Shah said that from July 22, the national flag should appear on the homepage of all state government websites while citizens should also be encouraged to display the tricolour on their Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and other social media accounts.

People should also take a selfie with the tricolour and upload it on the website of the culture ministry,” noted a PTI report, quoting Amit Shah.

The home minister further informed that the Indian government has made more than enough arrangements to ensure producing enough flags for making the programme a success.

He said that the Tirangas can be purchased from any of the post offices and also online.
