Driven by Brezza

The latest Brezza has received a great response, having secured about 70,000 bookings in a short span of time.

Over half of the bookings are for the top two premium variants.

This indicates buyers’ preference and willingness to shell out extra money for advanced tech features such as an electric sunroof, telematics and 360-degree camera, among others.

Grand Vitara

The new mid-segment SUV, Grand Vitara conceptualised, designed and developed by Suzuki and produced by Toyota comes with multiple variants with different powertrain options, including a hybrid powertrain.

This has helped it garner more than 20,000 bookings.

Nearly half of the bookings are for the 1.5L intelligent electric hybrid variant which comes with a dual power system — electric motor and internal combustion engine.

Most fuel-efficient SUV

It promises a mileage of about 28 km.

This hybrid model is touted by the carmaker to be the most fuel-efficient SUV in the market.

It will run on a battery most of the time and can switch to gasoline for the remaining time while the battery gets charged, avoiding the need to look for a charging station.

Production loss

The company has been hit by a shortage of electronic parts which has impacted its production volumes.

As a result, it lost production of about 51,000 units during the first quarter of this fiscal.

They are trying to maximise the production with the available semiconductors since the supply situation continues to be unpredictable.

New factory

The company has also finalised the 800-acre manufacturing site in Haryana.

This is the first factory with a capacity of 2.5 lakh units and is expected to be ready by 2025.

The investment will be more than Rs 11,000 crore in the first phase.
