The latest milestone in Kia’s upward journey in the Indian automobile industry is a sale of 5 lakh units. 

The company has unbelievably sold as many as 5 lakh units within only three years of its entry into the Indian automobile market.

What makes this success of Kia even more special is that the company is the only carmaker to report such great progress despite its entry into the market at a time when disposable earnings have greatly increased.

In less than 4.5 months, the previous one lakh unit sales milestone was reached, and Carens’ sales were a key factor. The 30,953 units sold since Carens’ launch helped to boost sales. According to this rising sales graph, Kia India now accounts for 6% of the company’s overall sales. 

Myung-Sik Sohn – Chief Sales Officer, Kia India, said, “India remains a priority market for India, and hence our 3 out of 5 product offerings in the country are not only manufactured locally but exported to different global markets as well.”

Which Is Kia’s Bestselling Car?

Market share for sales of Seltos is without a doubt the manufacturer’s top seller. Comprising 59 percent of all cumulative dispatches made by the business. Upwards of 32% of firm sales are attributable to Sonet, while 6.5 percent are attributable to Carens within five months after launch.

Total deployments till today are reported at 6,34,224 units including exports. Kia India is unquestionably writing its own success tale after racking up 5,000 domestic sales in less than three years of operations here, and has absorbed a steadily expanding consumer base in only a few short years. 

Over 18% of segment sales are already accounted for by its most recent product introduction, Carens. Due to its phenomenal expansion, it dominated as the second most popular car in its category. As per reports, each month, 400 units of Carnival are sold.

Kia India has sold almost 70% of CY2021 sales in the first six and a half months of 2022. Kia India will have 400 touchpoints across 225 locations by the end of CY2022. CY 2022 is currently Kia India’s most prosperous year. This is partly linked to low base sales over the past two years as a result of business restrictions brought on by the Covid-19 epidemic.
