Delhi Airport Beats Bengaluru, Mumbai To Become India’s & South Asia’s Best Airport! Check Top 10 Airports List

The Skytrax World Airport Awards has released its list of best airports across the world on June 17, 2022, and for the fourth time in a row, Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International airport has been declared as the best/finest airport in not just India but also in South Asia.

It is also the only airport in India to be featured in the top 50 best airports across the world, being stated as the ‘cleanest airport’, as per the Skytrax World Airport Awards report.

For those unaware, the Skytrax World Airport Awards are regarded as a quality benchmark for the world airport industry, assessing customer service and facilities across over 500 airports.

There is no entry fee or any type of payment by an airport (or other third party) to be included in the survey or awards, with the survey and awards process fully funded by Skytrax.

Also, more than 100 customer nationalities participated in the 2021-2022 survey. Travellers from across the globe take part in the airport customer satisfaction survey to decide award winners.

Delhi’s IGI Airport Finest in India and South Asia

As mentioned above, for the 4th time in a row, Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International airport has been ranked as the best in the country and whole of South Asia by the benchmark.

In 2021, the IGI airport jumped from the 45th in the Skytrax World Airport ranking to 37th, and is the only Indian airport in the top 50 airports across the world.

“All the airport staff, stakeholders and partners working at the airport have made Delhi airport the best airport in India and South Asia with their constant resilience, focus, and customer-centricity,” said the CEO of Delhi International Airport, Videh Jaipuriar.

The survey conducted by Skytrax assessed many factors, including customer satisfaction with airport services and products, including check-in, arrivals, transfers, shopping, security, immigration, and exit, among others.
