Instagram Reels Extended To 90 Seconds; These New Features Added For Facebook & Instagram Reels
Popular social media networking platform, Instagram, has updated its reel making features, and enabled users to upload reels of up to 90 seconds.
This news comes amid rumors about Tiktok making a comeback in India, which was banned in 2020.

Instagram Introduces New Features For Reels
Meta-owned Instagram has now enabled users to make longer Instagram Reels of up to 90 seconds. The app is also introducing multiple features and updated for its Reels products in both Instagram and Facebook.
One of these features is the “Sound Sync” on Facebook Reels.
This feature will enable users to automatically sync their video clips to the beat of a song of their choice. This decision is also claimed to be influenced by TikTok’s foray into YouTube’s area, as it now allows users to upload videos lasting up to ten minutes, up from three minutes previously.
As per a blog post by the company, “Today, we’re starting to roll out new creative tools across Facebook and Instagram Reels. These updates will not only make it easier to make and edit Reels, but also to get discovered by new audiences.”
As the opportunities to profit from Reels and Instagram continue to rise, Meta is also releasing more creative tools.
TikTok To Make A Comeback?
On the other hand, speculations are rife that TikTok, the world’s biggest short-video platform is making a comeback in India, albeit with a very interesting partnership.
TikTok’s parent company, ByteDance is about to strike a deal with a leading real-estate company in India, and enable the return of TikTok in India.
If we believe the reports, then ByteDance is in talks with Hiranandani Group, one of the biggest real-estate behemoths in India, to forge a path for TikTok’s return to India.
Note here, that Hiranandani Groups has now diversified into education, IT services, and more verticals, and they run and operate data centers under their subsidiary Yotta Infrastructure Solutions. It’s the largest data center in India and 2nd largest in Asia.
If a deal between Hiranandani Group and ByteDance goes through, then the data of TikTok users in India can be stored at their data centers, thereby meeting Govt regulations related to users’ data.
In 2020, Govt of India banned TikTok along with 58 other short video apps, citing data privacy and user’s privacy issues. Govt was not happy that TikTok is sending Indian users’ data to its Chinese servers.
As a result, the app was immediately banned, and TikTok closed down entirely in 2021 after it winded up its operations in India.
As per report, if TikTok makes a comeback in India, then they will hire all previous employees, and start full fledged operations.
