On Tuesday (17 May), a new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility was unveiled by Zet Town India Pvt Ltd, a Zetwerk company, at Noida in Uttar Pradesh.
Rajeev Chandrasekhar, Union Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology, inaugurated the plant.
Annually almost 10 million devices hearables, wearables and IoT devices will be produced by this facility.
The Manufacturing Facility
With 16 manufacturing lines with advanced testers and a world-class innovation lab for product development, the factory is spread over an area of 50,000 sq.ft. There are dedicated teams for Research and Development, Design, Sourcing, Assembly and Testing.
The factory has been established to create ODMs (Original Design Manufacturer) in hearables, wearables and IOT devices with the objective of strengthening India’s manufacturing capabilities in the smart technology space.
Rajeev Chandrasekhar said that the country has the potential to contribute around $ 400 billion worth of electronics goods including exports worth $120 billion. This would account for 9-10 per cent of the overall global value chains. From the current supply potential of 1-2 per cent. He said that with this inauguration, ambitions have been reset and there is a need to have more companies like Zetwerk in making this vision a reality.
According to a Ministry of Electronics & IT release, he said that “Their model is unique and can be easily scalable. I congratulate Zetwerk for this. They can play a significant role in achieving our objectives of making India a significant player in electronics GVC”.

Smart Technology & Focus on Design, Integration and Innovation
Products manufactured at Zet Town’s new ODM facility are developed using a customizable model. This model enables the company to control company to control the smart technology in the device by customizing product features and positioning in keeping with the requirements of customers.
Shalabh Srivastava, Chief Executive Officer, Zet Town India said that with a technology-first, people-first approach, the company is pioneering an ODM and EMS offering in the wearables and hearables space. In order to cater to the specific needs of various segments, there is a focus on design, integration and innovation.
He added that when it comes to the exporting Designed & Made in India wearables and hearables products, the company wants to be the first in India to do the same.
