India Will Roll Out 5G In Next Few Months; 6G Will Be Launched Before 2030 To Make India A Telecom-Superpower!

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that India aims to launch 6G services by the end of this decade and a task force has started working on it. 

He was speaking at the silver jubilee celebrations of the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI).

Connectivity Setting The Pace Of Progress

He spoke about the importance of faster and efficient technology in accelerating development and employment generation.

He believes that connectivity will determine the pace of progress in 21st century India, so it is important to ensure that connectivity is modernised at every level.

The self-made 5G Test Bed was inaugurated at the event. 

Indigenous Technology

The Test Bed is an important step toward self-reliance in critical and modern technology in the telecom sector.

The country’s own 5G standard has been made in the form of 5Gi, which is a matter of great pride.

It is expected to play a big role in bringing 5G technology to the villages of the country

The Big Picture

5G technology is also expected to bring positive changes in the governance of the country, ease of living, and ease of doing business.

It will also ensure growth in every sector like agriculture, health, education, infrastructure, and logistics, increase convenience and create many employment opportunities.

The telecom sector is a great example of self-reliance and healthy competition and how it creates a multiplier effect on society and the economy.

A Refreshed And Renewed Sector

New life has been infused into the telecom sector with the ‘Panchamrita’ of ‘Reach, Reform, Regulate, Respond and Revolutionise’ in the last eight years.

India is going beyond thinking in silos and moving ahead with the “whole of the government approach”, he said.

Phone Manufacturing Hub

The country is the fastest in the world in terms of teledensity and internet users.

Phone manufacturing is also one of the country’s capabilities, resulting in an increase in mobile manufacturing units from two to more than 200.

This helps make such devices accessible to the poorest of the poor families.

Calling For Collaboration

He called for regulators to work together in order to meet present and future challenges. 

This is because regulation is no longer restricted to the boundaries of just one sector.

Multiple different sectors are being interconnected thanks to technology, hence the need for collaborative regulation.

“All the regulators should come together, develop common platforms and find solutions for better coordination,” he commented.
