Mahindra Will Launch ‘Big Daddy Of SUVs’: Next Generation Mahindra Scorpio Is About To Be Launched!

A teaser video for their upcoming next-generation Mahindra Scorpio has been officially released by Mahindra.

Mahindra Z101 : Big Daddy of SUVs

Currently called as Z101, the manufacturer has not revealed the official name of the car.

Most likely to be the next-generation Scorpio SUV, Mahindra is being positioned as the ‘Big Daddy of SUVs’. An official teaser of the upcoming SUV from Mahindra’s SUV Proving Track in Tamil Nadu has now been released.

On their YouTube channel, a video has been shared by the Mahindra Automotive. The voice behind the teaser is that of the legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan.

It is in the Mahindra India Design Studio (M.I.D.S) in Mumbai that the Z101 is being designed. It is being engineered at the state-of-the-art facilities of Mahindra Research Valley (M.R.V.) near Chennai.

A lot of changes will be seen in the upcoming SUV when compared with the current generation model. Several spy pictures as well as videos can be seen by several spy pictures.

Various Features of Z101 SUV

The upcoming Z101 SUV will have a bold design to it and the same is hinted by Mahindra employees who are featured in the teaser video.

The C-shaped LED DRLs on the upcoming Scorpio are clearly visible towards the end of the video. Though it will have a different overall design, Mahindra is expected to offer the Scorpio a boxy design like the current model.

It will have an imposing look like any SUV. There will be a projector LED headlamps and the C-shaped fog lamps will be wrapped around the fog lamps on the front bumper in the front.

Some features which will be offered by the Mahindra Scorpio are clear from the video and also the interior is clear.

Features like panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, revised dashboard design with a touchscreen infotainment system, multi-function steering wheel, semi-digital instrument cluster, dual-tone leather upholstery, wireless phone charging and so on, which are not present in the current generation, will be offered in the upcoming generation.

In terms of looks as well as features, the Scorpio is expected to appeal to the people. Just like Thar and XUV700, there will be 2 engine options in the Mahindra Scorpio.

It is expected to be powered by a 2.2 litre turbocharged mHawk diesel engine and a 2.0 litre turbocharged mStallion petrol engine.

As compared to the Mahindra XUV700, both petrol and diesel engine options will be offered with manual and automatic transmissions.

As an option in the top-end variant, there are chances of Mahindra offering 4WD system, just like Jeep Compass.

The launch of SUV is expected soon as the almost production ready models of Mahindra Scorpio have been spotted testing on numerous occasions.

The upcoming Mahindra Scorpio is expected to showcase to the world in coming months and is expected to compete with SUVs like Tata Harrier in the segment.
