The Indian Railways IRCTC has started a full-fledged tourist package, with its first train journey called the Bharat Gaurav Tourist train starting on June 21, 2022, which would cover all the locations on the Ramayana Circuit.

The journey is marked under the Swadesh Darshan scheme that will cover all the important places and locations associated with the life of Lord Shri Rama.

The journey will start from the Indian city of Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh and in its route, will also cover the Janakpur stop in Nepal, associated with Goddess Sita.

The whole IRCTC journey will span over 18 days, and the price range of the journey will start from Rs 62,370/passenger.

Here’s the complete train journey of the Bharat Gaurav Tourist train.

Route and Journey of Bharat Gaurav Tourist Train

The train will commence its operations from June 21.

It will have its first stop at Ayodhya, known for the birthplace of Lord Rama. 

Tourists here will visit the Janmabhumi temple, along with the Hanuman temple, followed by Bharat Mandir at Nandigram, made in the honour of Lord Rama’s brother Bharat.

The next destination will be Buxar, Bihar.

The tourists here will be shown the hermitage of Maharishi Vishwamitra and the Ramrekha Ghat, where they can take a dip in the river Ganga.

The next stop will be at Sitamarhi, Sita’s birth place, and then there will be a road journey to Janakpur, Nepal.

Tourists will be provisioned to stay overnight at hotels here in Janakpur, and can visit the Ram-Janaki temple.

Next, the train will proceed to Varanasi, where the tourists will walk around the temples in the city.

‘Sita Samahit Sthal’, Prayag., Shringverpur and Chitrakoot will be covered by road. Night stay at hotels will be provided at Varanasi, Prayag and Chitrakoot, stated an ABP report.

The next stop will be Nashik, Maharashtra, where a visit to Trayambakeshwar temple and Panchvati shall be done.

The following stop at Hampi, Karnataka, believed to be Shri Hanuman’s birthplace, at the top of the Anjaneyadri Hills, will see overnight stays.

The next destination is Rameshwaram, and it will cover Ramanathaswamy temple and Dhanushkodi.

Kanchipuram is the next stop, covering Shiv Kanchi, Vishnu Kanchi and Kamakhshi temples.

The last stop would be at Bhadrachalam in Telengana, and the train will then return to Delhi on the 18th day of the journey, covering a distance of nearly 8,000 km.

“The train is fitted with a well equipped pantry car for rustling up freshly made vegetarian meal for the tourists. Infotainment system, CCTV camera, security guard services shall also be available on board,” added the report.
