Very soon, train tickets can be obtained from 45,000 post offices throughout India!

Besides, Khajuraho station in Madhya Pradesh will now be transformed into a world class station, as per an announcement by Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav.

Book Train Tickets Across Post Offices

As per Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav, post offices will be soon authorized to issues reserved train tickets for passengers.

There are 1.56 lakh post offices across India, and out of them, some of the major post offices will be provided with facilities to book train tickets.

Khajuraho Station To Be Transformed; Minister Boasts World Class Quality

The Minister has said that the Vande Bharat train will halt at this tourist place and Road Over Bridges (ROBs)/ Road Under Bridges (RUBs) will also be constructed at crucial spots. 

As per Vaishnav, “Khajuraho station would be turned into a world class station like Rani Kamalapati station in Bhopal and Gandhinagar station in Gujarat.”

He also talked about the operation of Bharat Gaurav trains like Ramayana Express, and the electrification which is to be completed by August. 

Vande Bharat Railways To Be Launched Along With Transformed Station

The Vande Bharat trains will also be launched around the same time. To honor the 75th year of Independence in 2022, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has finalized plans to roll out about 10 new Vande Bharat trains by August next year, which will connect at least 40 cities.

Vande Bharat is India’s self-developed semi-high speed train set, which matches the international standards and takes a shorter time to complete journeys, compared to the Rajdhani and Shatabdi trains.

The Indian government has plans to eventually add 100 Vande Bharat trains and is working towards adding a maximum number of these trains by 2024.

One Station One Product Scheme To Be Expanded

The minister stated that the railways would be offering funding to the farmers for setting up solar power units. They will also be able to produce electricity and a pilot will also be planned for this purpose. 

He was asked about changing the name of Dugariya to Bageshwar Dham, to which he said that if a proposal was sent by the state government, the place would be renamed. 

He revealed that the One Station One Product Scheme is also being expanded which will make local level products available in the market through stations. Under this scheme, 1000 stations will be included, Chhatarpur being one too.
