With the demand of electric vehicles on the rise, auto manufacturers are working wonders to command market dominance in the growing sector.

In a similar feat, the Japanese conglomerate Honda Motor Company and American giant General Motors have recently announced a new collaboration to develop a series of affordable electric vehicles together, using next-generation technology.

The operations between the two global giants will begin starting 2027 and they will together produce over a million electric cars on a worldwide level, providing top-tier quality.

General Motors & Honda Motor Partnership

In a collaboration to build an affordable line of electric vehicles, global auto giants General Motors and Honda Motor Co will enter into a partnership, making use of a new global architecture. 

This will include developing electric vehicles using the next-gen technology of Ultium battery. 

The partnership between the two companies will also include discussing building the future EV battery technology so that the cost of electrification could be reduced and the performance could be enhanced, in order to enhance the sustainability of future vehicles.

The operations on the same will start from 2027, and will include merging the design, tech and strategies of both the auto companies. 

They will also work together to standardise equipment and procedures for creating top-tier products, with increased throughput at lesser costs.

GM and Honda will share our best technology, design and manufacturing strategies to deliver affordable and desirable EVs on a global scale, including our key markets in North America, South America and China. This is a key step to deliver on our commitment to achieve carbon neutrality in our global products and operations by 2040 and eliminate tailpipe emissions from light duty vehicles in the U.S. by 2035. By working together, we’ll put people all over the world into EVs faster than either company could achieve on its own.”
