Xiaomi India has officially teased a new tablet launch in India, expected to be Mi Pad 5 series. The company stayed away from the segment for the longest time possible, but now it seems they are ready. As Chinese counterparts are jumping in to launch their own tablets in India, Xiaomi is the next to join the bandwagon. Manu Jain, the top executive tweeted to announce the development with a dedicated microsite, wherein the company will confirm which tablets will they bring to India on April 1.
As of now, the recent Mi Pad 5 series seem like the probable tablets to launch in India.
Also, given they will confirm the same on April 1, it could be a joke as well. Top companies often find out ways to fool us on April 1, so let’s see what Xiaomi has for us in the box.
Coming to Mi Pad 5 specifications, it features a 11-inch WQXGA display in a 16:10 aspect ratio offering 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10, TrueTone True certified. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 860 processor with Adreno 640 GPU running on Android 11 with MIUI 12.5 custom skin out of the box. It is backed by an 8,720mAh battery with 33W fast-charging support.
