Nykaa founder Falguni Nayar has made the top 10 list of self-made women billionaires in the world with a net worth of $7.6 billion.

She is the latest entrant to the list.

The data comes from the Hurun Institute report which is the largest compiler of the wealthiest people in the world globally.

She debuted at number 10, also being the only Indian to do so.

She overtook Biocon’s Kiran Mazumdar Shaw to become India’s richest self-made female billionaire.

Her company, the unicorn Nykaa sells products from beauty and fashion brands through its website, app, and offline stores.

Biggest Economies Without SMFB

There are 124 self-made women billionaires today who hail from 16 countries.

This is twice as much as it was five years ago and 100 more than ten years ago.

Among the world’s largest economies, Japan, Germany, France, Canada and South Korea do not have a single self-made woman billionaire.

India, meanwhile, has seen a 3x increase in the number of self-made women billionaires over the last decade.

Number 1

At number 1 on the list is Beijing-based property developer Wu Yajun, 58 who runs Longfor.

With a wealth of $17 billion, she is the world’s richest self-made woman billionaire.

In fact, China accounts for two-thirds of the total list with 78 self-made women billionaires, 7 of whom are in the top 10.

Billionaire Zoho Founder

There is a third Indian woman billionaire, the 49-year-old co-founder of Zoho Radha Vembu.

She is the product manager at the company which she founded with her brother.

She is the third richest after Falguni Nayar and Mazumdar Shaw.

She has also seen the biggest rise and ranks 2nd among the ones who saw most growth.

She has a net worth of $3.9 billion.

PIO Billionaire

Neha Narkhede is among Hurun’s top 10 new women billionaires.

She is of Indian origin but based out of California.

She is the founder of software company Confluent and has a total wealth of $1.6 billion.

Youngest On The List

The title of the world’s youngest self-made woman billionaire goes to Whitney Wolfe Herd, 32, of dating app Bumble.

She is worth $1 billion.

Pop Culture Icons

A few globally renowned celebs have also made the list for the first time, namely Kim Kardashian of KKW beauty and Rihanna of Fenty.

They debuted on the list this year with $2 billion and $1 billion respectively.

There are a total of 556 women billionaires in the world of which 124 are self-made while the rest inherited their wealth.
