The much-awaited multi-device support for all users feature is now available on WhatsApp and the Meta-owned encrypted messaging service has started its roll out.

Multi-device Support For All Users

So far,  the feature has been made available to users under WhatsApp’s opt-in beta testing programme.

But, now, the update will roll out to iOS users this month, followed by an Android release next month, according to WABetainfo.

How Does Multi-device Support Work?

As per this new update, your primary device will not have to remain online in order to access the platform.

With the roll out of multi-device support to all users on iOS and Android,  WhatsApp can be used on up to four linked devices without users needing to be connected via a smartphone.

Inorder to enable the multi-device support, users need to join the multi-device beta.

It is noteworthy here that viewing live location is not possible on paired devices.

Besides this, creating and viewing broadcast lists or sending messages with link previews from WhatsApp Web cannot be performed on the secondary devices.

Emoji Reactions Rollout

Along with multi-device support for all users, the messaging app has also started rolling out emoji reactions in beta on Android.

First time emoji reactions appeared in beta version 2.22.8.3 of the service’s Android app.

It has provided users a quick and easy way to respond to incoming messages.

With the use of this emoji reaction feature, the users can react with one of six emoji — thumbs up, heart, crying, laughter, shocked face, or folded hands (usually taken to mean “thank you”) with a long-press of a received message.
