Ola Electric Bike Will Become Upto 5% Expensive; New OS Will Be Launched | Production Hiked To 1000 Units/Day

How Much Is The Hike?
The new prices will take effect from the next purchase window on March 17-18, coinciding with the Holi festival.
Co-Founder Bhavish Aggarwal tweeted that this is the last chance to buy the scooter for Rs 1,29,999 before the 18th when the window ends.
The quantum of the hike hasn’t been revealed yet, but going by industry standards one can expect a 3-5% increase.
Fastest E-Scooter
The S1 Pro is powered by a motor that churns out 8.5 kW and 58 Nm of torque.
It is said to deliver a range of around 131 km.
The company also claims that the Pro is the quickest in its segment, hitting 0-40 kmph in 3.6 seconds.
Holi Special Edition
The company is selling a special model available for only two days of Holi on March 17 and 18.
It is an exclusive special edition colour variant of Gerua in a glossy finish.
It can be purchased only through the Ola app.
New Update To Provide Promised Features
It is also going to roll out an OTA update called MoveOS 2.0 by the end of April which will provide users features that were missing in the delivered scooters.
Aside from Bluetooth connectivity, cruise control and navigation, S1 Pro owners will also get a companion app for their scooters.
Despite this, customers may be left disappointed due to some features still missing.
At its launch, Ola said the S1 Pro will receive a hill hold function and a voice assistant feature.
However, the company made no mention of any of these in its MoveOS 2.0 announcement.
Independent Manufacturing Of Battery Cells
Ola Electric is looking to cut costs from imported battery packs by manufacturing its own.
It has secured $2.4 billion from the government’s production linked incentive scheme.
It had been one of the bidders for the scheme.
It aims to create up to 50 gigawatt of storage capacity whereas others have targeted 130 gigawatts.
It has roped in Dr. Prabhakar Patil as a board member who used to head LG Chem Power and has experience in battery development.
His former company LG Chem Power has been associated with some of the leading names in global EV space.
The battery cells it will manufacture will power Ola’s future two-wheelers as well as electric cars.
