After the huge success of the CNG variants of Wagon R, Celerio, Alto, Ertiga, Dzire, Maruti Suzuki has now announced that it will launch the CNG variant of the Ciaz and Baleno.

The new cars will include both Arena and Nexa models. 

Maruti Suzuki Dzire CNG variants (VXi and ZXi) were the latest car that was launched by the company, and that was a huge hit too.

Maruti Suzuki To Launch CNG Variants Of Ciaz And Baleno

Shashank Srivastava, Senior Executive Director – Sales and Marketing, Maruti Suzuki, confirmed the news that MSIL will launch the CNG version of Nexa models viz. Ciaz sedan and Baleno.

Maruti Suzuki will reportedly introduce the factory-fitted CNG kit on the Swift, Brezza, and Ertiga MPV. The Maruti Swift CNG will be equipped with a 1.2L Dualjet K12C petrol engine with the factory-fitted CNG kit delivering power worth 70bhp and 95Nm of torque.

15 percent of MSIL’s sales come from CNG models and 30 percent if we consider segment-wise. 

MSIL To Offer Ciaz With Discounts?

Recently, the news was that Maruti is offering all variants of the Ciaz with the following discounts:

Exchange Bonus – Rs 25,000

Corporate Discount – Rs 5,000

Total Benefits – Up to Rs 30,000. 

This sedan is powered by a 1.5-litre, four-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol motor, that produces 103 bhp on tap with 138 Nm of peak torque. It is mated to a 5-speed torque converter as standard. It is also available in 4-speed torque converter as an option. Maruti Ciaz is priced from Rs 8.67 lakh to Rs 11.66 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

The new generation of the Maruti Suzuki Celerio was launched in November 2021, with an updated version of the brand’s 1.0L K-series engine. 

And today, the CNG version has been launched, which will get the same dual jet 1.0-litre petrol engine as the standard Celerio, with a factory-fitted CNG kit bolted on to it. 

The Celerio will be equipped with an engine that will generate 65.26 PS and 89 Nm when running on petrol, and 56.70 PS and 82.1 Nm on CNG, which is a bit more powerful than Wagon-R CNG and S-Presso CNG.
