Renault’s Kwid has been launched in the market for a price as low as Rs. 4.49 lakhs. The car will compete against the likes of Alto, Punch, Santro, Tiago.

When the car was first launched in 2015, it has sold more than 4 lakh units in the Indian automobile market.

As we shared recently, Kwid is being offered with a cash discount of up to Rs. 10,000, an exchange bonus of up to Rs. 15,000 on the 1.0L version and Rs. 10,000 on the 800cc version. There is also a corporate discount of Rs. 10,000 and a rural benefit of Rs. 5,000.

The Kwid will come with two petrol engine options and no diesel engine options. Also, both the petrol engine options will have three-cylinder, naturally aspirated units. It comes with 5 speed manual and AMT transmission. It offers a mileage of 22 to 25 kmpl

The car also has multiple safety features, such as dual airbags, rear parking sensors, engine immobilizer, Antilock-braking system with Electronic Brake Distribution, Over Speed Alert, seat belt reminders, high mounted stop lamp and integrated headrests as standard. Whereas, the higher variants get pre-tensioner seatbelts and a rear parking camera.

The car has LED guidelines in the tail lamp, roof spoiler, side indicator on wheel arches, black hub caps, wheel arch cladding, LED Daytime Running Lamps and Grey Melange colour scheme for the interior.

Features And Rivals of Kwid 2022

The car offers multiple high end features, such as a heater, pollen filter, digital tachometer and an onboard computer on the base variant. As the variant differs, you will also get electric power steering, power windows, internally adjustable ORVMs, keyless entry, infotainment system with Bluetooth, rear parcel tray, USB charger, day-night IRVM, LED instrument cluster, leather-wrapped steering wheel.

There also is a a touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Video Playback and voice recognization.

All in all, there are no big changes to the car’s specifications or features.

The car will be pitted against Maruti Suzuki Alto 800, Maruti Suzuki S-Presso, Tata Punch, Tata Tiago, Hyundai Santro and Datsun redi-GO.
