If you are planning for some event which requires you to travel by train along with all your family members then here is the good news for you.

Book For Coach And Entire Train Is Open

Now, Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) allows booking for an entire coach or you can even book the whole train.

You can visit the FTR (Full Tariff Rate) website of IRCTC, in order to book a coach or entire train.

On top of that the Railway offers various types of coaches including AC 2-tier, AC 3-tiers, AC first class, AC 2 cum 3 tier, sleeper, AC saloon, and AC chair car among others.

How Does It Work?

In a simple way, the Passengers can make these bookings by visiting their nearest railway station.

They also have to pay Rs 50,000 per coach by cash to the Station Manager of the journey commencing station.

In case of a special train, the passengers need to book at least 18 coaches.

This simply means that one has to spend a minimum of Rs 9 lakh as registration cum security charges to book a special train.

If the journey is of more than seven days then Rs 10,000 per day per coach will be charged additionally.

Besides this, other additional charges like service charge on return fee, safety charges and empty run charges may also be  applied.

Please note that these charges are subject to revision from time to time.

Apart from registration fee, an application has to be submitted to the Chief Passenger Transportation Manager (CPTM) at least 30 days before the commencement of your journey.

It is noteworthy here that the confirmation of tickets will depend on operational feasibility and haulage confirmation from other concerned zonal railways.

Besides this, the approvals for your booking can be restrained by railways in case of inclement weather like heavy rain and foggy conditions.

If everything goes right, the final confirmed programme copy will have to be collected from the office of the Chief Passenger Transportation Manager at least 72 hours before the date of commencement of journey.

After that, a full list having details of all the passengers intending to travel in the booked train has to be presented to the Station manager.

These details need to be submitted at least 48 hours in advance for the preparation of the tickets.
