These New Cars Are Launching In India In March: Tata, Toyota, Lexus, MG & More

BMW X4 Facelift

The German automaker shall start accepting the pre-bookings for the BMW X4 facelift. The new car will be based on the new X3 that was launched earlier this year and could be offered with the same petrol and diesel engines as the X3, both paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission, which will include a 2.0-litre petrol producing 248 BHP and 350 Nm and a 3.0-litre diesel churning out 282 BHP and 650 Nm.

2022 Lexus NX350h

From March 9, 2022, Lexus’s 2022 NX350h SUV will go on sale in India. The new SUV that shall come with a host of cosmetic updates and feature additions, shall be offered with three variants. The car will be powered by a  2.5-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine paired with two 240 BHP electric motors.

2022 Mercedes-Maybach S-Class

On March 3, 2022, Mercedes-Benz will be launching the 2022 Maybach S-Class in India which will be based on the W223 S-Class. S580 and S680 are the two variants in which it will be launched.

While both the engines are paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission, the S580 is powered by a 4.0-litre, twin-turbo V8 engine with a 48-volt mild hybrid system, producing 496 BHP and 700 Nm and the S680 comes with a 6.0-litre V12 that makes 603 BHP and 900 Nm.

2022 MG ZS EV

On March 7, the facelifted version of the ZS EV is to be launched by MG. The new car will come with a bunch of cosmetic updates, both inside & out. Offering a range of 480 km, it will also feature a larger 51 kWh battery pack. It shall have features such as ADAS, borrowed from its petrol-powered sibling.

Skoda Slavia 1.5 TSI

The Slavia 1.5-litre TSI engine is to be launched by Skoda in the Indian market. Notably, it has already launched the Slavia 1.0-litre TSI version. The pricing of the 1.5-litre TSI engine model shall be announced on March 3, 2022.

Paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DSG automatic transmission, the engine produces 148 BHP and 250 Nm

Tata Altroz DCA

Bookings for the automatic variants of the Altroz premium hatchback, Tata Altroz DCA (Dual-Clutch Automatic) has opened by the Tata Motors. Powered by the same 1.2-litre NA petrol producing 85 BHP and 113 Nm, it shall be paired with new DCA transmission.

2022 Toyota Glanza Facelift

Essentially a rebadged version of the Baleno facelift, the 2022 Toyota Glanza shall  be to introduced in the Indian market sometime this month.

Similar design changes to the new Baleno shall be carry forwarded by the new 2022 Toyota Glanza. Paired with either a 5-speed manual or 5-speed AMT, it shall also be powered by the same 1.2-litre petrol engine producing 89 BHP and 113 Nm

Toyota Hilux Pickup

Though the official date is yet to be announced, sometime in March 2022, Toyota could launch the Hilux pickup. Back in the month of January, carmaker opened the bookings for the Hilux. However, just after this the carmaker was overwhelmed with the response and had to halt bookings for the model.

Paired with either a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission unit, this car will be powered by a 2.8-litre diesel engine producing 201 BHP and 500 Nm. It will come with a four-wheel-drive system, an electronic differential lock & a limited-slip differential.

Volkswagen Virtus (Unveil)

A new mid-size sedan for the Indian market, called the Virtus shall be unveiled on March 8, 2022 by the worlds largest automaker, Volkswagen. This car shall replace the ageing Vento in the brand’s Indian lineup and will be based on the MQB-A0-IN platform.

With either a 6-speed manual, 6-speed torque converter or a 7-speed DSG automatic transmission, it will be powered by the 1.0-litre TSI and 1.5-litre TSI engine options.
