Microsoft is recalling its employees to offices from Feb. 28.

Starting With HQ

It is starting by fully reopening its offices in Washington state, its HQ, on Feb 28.

Microsoft’s main campus location King County has nearly 84% of eligible residents fully vaccinated.

It said that these offices will transition to the sixth and final stage of the hybrid workplace model effective Feb 28.

Microsoft’s Model

For almost 2 years the software giant’s hybrid model has anchored each of its work sites to 1 of 6 defined stages.

With this the company can adjust its guidance depending on health data, local govt guidace, vaccine availability and rates, etc.

Henceforth employees will have 30 days to “make adjustments to their routines and adopt the working preferences they’ve agreed upon with their managers”.

Who is required in the office and when will be decided by each team.

Reopening Phases

It says that it will remain a flexible workplace and that employees will be able to work from home up to half the week without needing manager approval.

Those who want to work remotely more often will have to seek approval.

Microsoft will begin admitting visitors and guests to its campuses and restart services like its shuttle buses and ride-sharing options.
