21 Crore Aarogya Setu App Users Can Now Generate 14-Digit Health ID, Link All Medical Records & More! (Find Out How?)

Generate Health ID Via App
This will provide the benefits of the 14-digit unique Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA) number to the app’s users.
Union health minister Mansukh Mandaviya tweeted that Aarogya Setu users will now be able to create a 14-digit unique Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA) number from the app.
This is possible thanks to the integration which will “strengthen the digital health ecosystem.”
What Is It Good For?
The ABHA number has a variety of purposes.
People can use it to link their existing and new medical records such as doctor prescriptions, lab reports, hospital records etc.
They can share these records with registered health professionals and health service providers.
They can also access other digital health services whilst maintaining a common pool of medical history.
Repurposing Of Aarogya Setu
National Health Authority CEO RS Sharma said that the Aarogya Setu app played a key role in the pandemic.
It is presently used for contact tracing, vaccine booking, certificate download and status check, among other things.
He said that it was “essential to repurpose this widely used digital public good.”
In the future the government will roll out the functionality to enable the public to view their digital health records.
How To Access Service
The unique ABHA numbers can be generated using Aadhaar number and other basic identifiers such as name,Year of Birth (or Date of Birth), Gender and address (auto-populated once the user authenticates via Aadhaar OTP).
Users who do not wish to use the Aadhaar number can also make use of their driving license or mobile numbers.
The ABHA number can be generated from: https://abdm.gov.in/ or the ABHA app.
