Design

The car gets some major cosmetic updates alongside borrowing some elements from its Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) counterpart the MG Astor.

First off, it looks more a typical EV compared to the existing model.

Part of this look is a heavily refreshed front end with a covered grille as might be seen on conventional EVs.

The charging socket is behind the MG logo on the grille, but on the facelift version it has been moved to the left of the MG logo.

Features

The front bumper gets a sharper design with a wider central airdam and vertical intakes at both ends.

Some of its features include LED headlamps, LED daytime running light, and a set of new 17-inch alloy wheels.

The rear section isn’t visible in the images it shared but the company says it would include a pair of redesigned LED taillamps, and new rear bumpers as well.

Interior

Coming to the interior, the cabin borrows styling cues and features from the MG Astor.

There is a sunroof and a front camera on the grille meant for a 360-degree view camera.

Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) may also be included.

Battery

The existing EV runs on a 44.5 kWh Hi-Tech battery pack that powers a permanent magnet synchronous motor.

It churns out 141 bhp and 353 Nm of peak torque.

MG claims a maximum range of up to 419 km on a full charge.

Upcoming E-Crossover

The ZS EV first came out in 2020 and ever since it has sold over 4,000 units.

This makes MG the second-largest EV manufacturer in India after Tata Motors with a 27% market share.

MG announced that it is working on a smaller electric crossover to be priced between Rs 10 lakh to Rs 15 lakh, set to arrive in 2023 to take on the Nexon EV.
