Jio Offers 2-Day Free Service For These Users; Service Outage Hits Entire Mumbai

On Saturday, Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Jio which is India’s largest telecom operator, faced an over eight-hour long outage in the financial capital. During this outage, the Jio subscribers were unable to make or receive calls.

It was around noon that the users of Jio started facing issues, post which a phased restoration of connections was done later in the evening after 8 PM.

As of the data of November 2021, the largest telecom operator has 1.30 crore subscribers in the Mumbai circle. The reason of this unforeseen outage, was however, is not known as of now.

Acknowledgement of Issue & 2-Day Complimentary Service

Because of the disruption, a two-day complimentary unlimited plan was announced by the operator, post the acknowledgement of the issue which was sent to customers in the form of message.

The message read how the overall experience was not particularly nice for the customers even though the Jio team was able to resolve the network issue in a matter of hour. Jio apologized for the incident.

Since the services were getting restored in a phased manner, the subscribers were requested to restart their phones.

Users Took It To Social Media

Users complained of getting a message saying they are not registered on the network while attempting a call while those calling Jio subscribers could not get through.

Many of the Jio subscribers took it to social media to enquire or vent about the overall service outage. Many subscribers also advocated the use of whatsapp to make calls from their Wi-Fi connections.
