Kia Seltos Facelift Launching By July, 2022? Rumors Suggest A Big Surprise!

The powertrain options remain the same as the outgoing models.

It is being reported that Kia could come out with the Seltos facelift in India around mid-2022.

It has already been spotted on test rides in South Korea meaning that it is already in advanced stages of its development.

Appearance

The spy images reveal a redesigned front fascia and L-shaped tail lamp clusters at the back similar to those on the Carens.

Some styling tweaks include a new-look nose, new alloy wheels, mild tweaks to the rear end, new colours and textures for the interior.

Significant Update

The interior will likely be largely untouched except for the addition of a panoramic sunroof.

The sunroof is a big talking point because it is a highly demanded feature which is already present in the MG Hector and the Seltos’ main rival the new Hyundai Creta.

The Seltos upon its launch in August 2019 got a single-pane unit but the other big players already had a bigger sunroof covering the roof of the cars.

Top-Spec New Features

The panoramic sunroof will likely feature in the top-most variants of the Seltos while mid-range variants could continue with the single-pane sunroof.

The top-spec model could also come equipped with an sensor-based Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS).

The powertrain options remain the same as the outgoing models.

Powertrain

These include 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol, 1.4-litre turbo-petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engines.

The 1.5L naturally-aspirated petrol has a power and torque output of 113 bhp/144 Nm.

The 1.5L turbocharged diesel churns out 113 bhp/250 Nm.

The 1.4L turbocharged petrol has a power and torque output of 138 bhp/242 Nm.

Transmission, Competition

The 6-speed manual, 6-speed IVT, 6-speed automatic and 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmissions will also be retained.

Upon its launch it will take on the second-gen Hyundai Creta, the Skoda Kushaq, the Volkswagen Taigun and the MG Astor.
