Indian Railways Suddenly Cancels 1163 Trains Across India: How To Check Full List On Mobile

The ongoing winter is posing serious cold waves, accompanied at times with non-seasonal rains. The fog situation is getting worse too. As a result, the domestic carrier, Indian Railways is announcing the cancellation of multiple trains. It started doing this on January 25 and followed by releasing a separate list of trains that were canceled on January 26, 2022.

Indian Railways Canceling Trains Due to Weather Conditions

Most parts of the country are experiencing extreme cold. Delhi, on January 26, 2022, witnessed its coldest day in January over the past 9 years, recording a whopping 10% below normal at 12.1 degree centigrade.

Due to heavy fog and operational reasons, Indian Railways announced to cancel 1,163 trains on January 26. It also changed the origination stations of about 25 trains and terminated 21 more trains before their destination stations.

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) on Jan 25 informed that states including Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Punjab and West Uttar Pradesh have high chances of experiencing severe cold, along with very dense fog over the next two days.

On Jan 25, the national transporter cancelled 536 trains, changing originating stations of 28 trains and terminated 31 trains at earlier stations.

Additionally, the states witnessing cancellation of trains include Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, New Delhi, Haryana, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Assam, Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, Gujarat, Bihar, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, among others.

How to Check if Your Train is Cancelled?

Step 1: Visit this link: https://enquiry.indianrail.gov.in/mntes/ and select your date of journey.

Step 2: Click on the ‘Exceptional Trains’ tab on the upper panel.

Step 3: On the drop down, select the ‘Cancelled Trains’ option.

Step 4: On the Cancelled Type dot option, mark ‘Fully’ to check the list of trains with time, routes and other details.

Step 5: By clicking on the ‘Partial’ dot option, you can find the list of trains with the Source Changed and the ones terminating short.
