Indian Railways has canceled 1,026 trains on Sunday, January 23 due to operational reasons, foggy weather and bad weather conditions.

Canceled Trains

It has also changed the originating station of 24 trains and short terminated 24 others.

The canceled trains include those operating between Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, New Delhi, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, West Bengal, Gujarat, Bihar, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, and Assam.

Cold weather conditions are present in several parts of the country such as Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Jharkhand, Bihar among others.

Delhi-Bound Trains Delayed

Due to fog in Delhi, at least 21 Delhi-bound trains ran late on January 20.

The list of delayed trains includes Howrah-New Delhi Express, Puri- New Delhi Express and Mumbai- New Delhi Express, Gorakhpur- New Delhi Express and Kanpur- New Delhi Express among others.

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted that minimum temperature will likely stay  2-3 degrees Celsius below normal across the western Himalayan region, east-central and east and northeast India.

Three-Hour Construction Delay

Operations of 20 trains originating from West Bengal were also affected.

The delay can be blamed on the proposed three-hour block for the construction of a road overbridge on the Dhanbad and Howrah route.

Due to this, services of 437 trains were canceled on Thursday.

How To Check Full List Of Cancelled Trains

Visit: https://enquiry.indianrail.gov.in/mntes/ and select the date of journey.

Select Exceptional Trains on the top panel of the screen and click on Cancelled Trains.

Select Fully or Partially option to see full list of trains with time, routes and other details.

To check the list of affected trains on Sunday, change the date from the drop down menu to January 23.

Regarding Refunds

If tickets have been booked through IRCTC, there is no need to cancel e-ticket if your train has been cancelled by the Railways.

This is because the ticket will automatically get cancelled and a refund will be made in 3 to 7 days.

If tickets have been booked through the PRS counter, then you must visit the PRS counter and fill the related form to collect a refund.
