As per the development, the Chinese smartphone brand is working on a sub-?20,000 smartphones especially for the Indian market. OnePlus will now focus more on mid-range and entry-level premium phones than high-end flagships. Though, it will continue to make higher-end flagships, the focus will be more on the value-for-money mid-range premium phones. The recently launched OnePlus Nord 2 5G opened to mixed responses, but has been selling quite well for the price.

Just a while ago OnePlus merged with its sister brand OPPO. It has already started using a merged version of ColorOS, and it’s seen changing shoes to experiment with new categories.

OnePlus started with value-for-money flagships, and was once known for flagship killer phones in India and abroad. It slowly kept increasing the prices as they got popular each year.

Lately it has been experimenting a lot, and came up with a bunch of non-smartphone products. Even in the smartphone space it started to bring in budget and mid-range phones, and now is said to enter the budget smartphone category in India under Rs 20,000.

Tipster Yogesh Brar reported that OnePlus will release sub Rs 20,000 smartphones in India, said to start by the end of the year. The upcoming OnePlus phones will probably continue with the ‘Nord’ branding. The company has experienced success with Nord phones in India, and it will probably focus more on this category in India. OnePlus already sells budget phones abroad, and now its turn for India.
