Tata Group Become IPL 2022 Title Sponsors
IPL’s Governing body has confirmed that Tata Group has indeed become the title sponsor for IPL 2022.
IPL chairman Brijesh Patel said, “Yes, Tata group is coming in as IPL title sponsor,”
Meanwhile Jay Shah, secretary of BCCI, showcased his joy and confidence, when he said, “This is indeed a momentous occasion for the BCCI IPL as the Tata Group is the epitome of global Indian enterprise with an over 100 year old legacy and operations in more than 100 countries across six continents.”
Tata has 29 listed companies in India, with a market capital of $242 billion.
IPL 2022 can be an exciting opportunity for them to target their audience, and showcase their innovations and new developments.
Jay Shah further said, “The BCCI like the TATA Group is keen to promote the spirit of cricket across international borders and the growing popularity of the IPL as a global sporting franchise, bears testimony to the BCCI’s efforts.”
But the question is.. Why did Vivo quit?
This Is Why Vivo Quit IPL 2022?
Vivo had paid around Rs 2200 crore for bagging the title sponsorship for IPL, between 2018 to 2022.
But then, in 2020, there were tensions between India and China due to the Galwan Valley tension, and Vivo had to quit the sponsorship title. Dream11 was roped in at the last moment for filling in title sponsorship in 2020.
But in 2021, Vivo returned as title sponsors.
But now, at the end of their contract, Vivo has finally quit, and given the command to Tata Group for title sponsorship.
Auction of the players for IPL 2022 will start from 2nd week in February, at Bengaluru.
