The Indian passport has seen a tremendous amount of progress, as it went up seven positions since October 2021!

Everyone who has an Indian passport can now travel to 60 countries without a prior visa, as per The Henley Passport Index. 

The ranking is based on  International Air Transport Authority (IATA) data, which determines how easy it is for citizens from different countries to move around the globe.

Japan And Singapore Rank First, Followed By Germany And South Korea

Japan and Singapore have the first spot in the list Of the passport index where passport holders from Japan and Singapore can travel to 192 countries without a visa. 

Next in line are Germany and South Korea and passport holders from these countries can travel to 190 countries without a visa. 

Finland, Italy, Luxembourg, and Spain have been ranked third as passport holders from these countries can travel to 189 countries without a visa. 

Next in line are Austria, Denmark, France, and the Netherlands. In fact, France and Netherlands have gone up by one spot and one the fourth place with Austria and Denmark. Passport holders of these countries can have access to 188 countries without the need for a visa.

Ireland, Portugal, Belgium, New Zealand, Norway All Among Top Ten Countries

In fifth place are Ireland and Portugal as passport holders of these countries can travel to 187 countries and will not need a visa. 

Belgium, New Zealand, Norway, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and United States are in sixth place with visa-free entry to 186 countries. 

In the seventh position are Australia, Canada, Czech Republic, Greece, and Malta. Australia and Canada have jumped one spot and are now at the seventh position. People with passports of these countries can travel to 185 countries without a visa. 

Hungary has gone up to positions and Poland has gone up by three positions to the eighth rank in the list with access to 184 countries without a visa. 

Standing on the ninth position are Lithuania and Slovakia, whose passport holders can travel to 182 countries without a visa. 

Passports of Estonia, Latvia and Slovenia are tenth in the list of the powerful passport countries. Passport holders of these countries can enter 181 countries without a visa.
