For Classes 10 and 12, offline classes would continue in Maharashtra.

Schools throughout the country are being closed in the advent of the pandemic’s third wave fueled by the Omicron variant. 

Curbing transmission and surge in cases by any means necessary is the need of the hour, and schools are no exception.

Delhi

The Delhi government ordered the closure of all schools as part of its Graded Response Action Plan (Grap).

The city is under the yellow alert which is the lowest in terms of severity.

Haryana

Schools and colleges have been shut in Haryana.

Offline classes are likely to resume after January 12 but it all depends on the pandemic situation in the state.

Maharashtra

Schools in Nashik are shut from January 10 to January 31 for classes 1 to 9 and 11.

Schools in Mumbai and Pune are shut till January 31.

For Classes 10 and 12, offline classes would continue as of now in view of the upcoming board exams.

Tamil Nadu

Schools for students of classes 1 to 9 have been ordered shut till January 20.

Students in Classes 10, 11 and 12 will continue with physical classes.

Odisha

Effective January 7, all schools till Class 12 and colleges will be shut in the state till February 1.

West Bengal

The state education department has temporarily shut primary and secondary schools in the state.

Rajasthan

Closure of schools for classes 1-8 coming under the municipal areas of Jaipur and Jodhpur has been extended till January 17.

Bihar

All schools, colleges, coaching centres, and hostels will remain closed till January 21.

Schools of classes 9-12 will function at 50 percent capacity.

Telangana

The state government has declared holidays for all educational institutions from January 8 to 16.

Jharkhand

All educational institutions have been closed till January 15.

Goa

All schools will remain closed till January 26.

Punjab

All schools, colleges, universities, coaching institutes etc will remain closed till January 15.

Uttar Pradesh

Schools of Classes 1 to 10 will remain closed till January 16.
