Banks Will Be Closed For 16 Days In January, 2022: Full List Of Bank Holidays In January

The RBI has released its list of bank holidays in 2022, which include the second and fourth Saturdays and all Sundays.

These are the seven weekly offs.

Aside from that, different states will observe different bank holidays as per their customs.

Bank branches will remain closed on specific dates but online banking transactions will continue to function.

Republic Day

India observes three national holidays i.e. on January 26 (Republic Day), August 15 (Independence Day), and October 2 (Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti).

Most states’ banks will be closed on January 26, 2022, in honour of Republic Day.

The Reserve Bank of India classifies the holidays in three categories:

Holiday under the Negotiable Instruments Act and Real-Time Gross Settlement Holiday

Only Aizawl, Chennai, Gangtok, and Shillong banks will be closed on this date.

Only banks in Gangtok will be closed on this date.
