Upcoming Smartphones In January 2022: OnePlus 10 Pro, Xiaomi 12 Pro, Redmi K50 Pro, Galaxy S22 Ultra, Realme GT 2 Pro

Xiaomi is gearing up for a streak of launches in the next few weeks. The company is known to launch phones every month under different brand names, but have stayed away from launching any new phone in the last few weeks, probably because of Xiaomi 12 series. Realme will unveil Realme GT 2 Pro, while its sister company OnePlus will unveil OnePlus 10 Pro, the next flagship by the brand.

The upcoming flagship series is being hyped a lot, and Xiaomi will start 2022 with a big bang.

Redmi K50 series will also be making its way soon, in India the gaming variant will be rebranded as Poco F4 GT.

Xiaomi 12, Xiaomi 12 Pro

The company will unveil Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12 Pro on December 28, global availability expected in January 2022. The phones will have identical camera modules but will be different in sizes. New Xiaomi 12 leak confirms that the upcoming Xiaomi handset will have a triple camera setup featuring a 50-megapixel primary sensor. It will pack in a hole-punch curved Full HD+ display and an in-built fingerprint sensor. Xiaomi 12 will support 67W fast charging, as per 3C listing with a 5,000mAh battery, to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC with 8GB of RAM. 

Xiaomi 12 Pro will feature a 6.73-inch Samsung E5 AMOLED LTPO display with support for 2K resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. The rear camera setup on Xiaomi 12 Pro will have three 50-megapixel cameras, a 1/1.28-inch Sony IMX707 primary camera with an f/1.9 aperture, a Samsung S5KJN1 telephoto sensor, and a Samsung S5KJN1 ultrawide lens with a 115-degree FOV.

Redmi K50 Series: Redmi K50 Gaming Pro, Redmi K50, Redmi K50 Pro

Redmi K50 Gaming Pro has received a regulatory approval hinting at an imminent launch. According to popular internet tipster Digital Chat Station, Redmi K50 Pro Gaming edition has been approved by the regulatory authority in China with the model name L10 (Matisse) and the phone is tipped to ship with the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 SoC. As per the leak, Redmi K50 series will have four devices, and wherein two of them will be powered by the Dimensity 7000 and 9000 chipsets and two will run on Snapdragon 870 and Snapdragon 8 Gen1.

It also has been leaked that the upcoming Redmi K50 models will come with MIUI 13 out of the box. As this year, Redmi K50 series will also have a gaming edition smartphone just like Redmi K40 Gaming Edition or POCO F3 GT. Redmi K50 Gaming Edition could get powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 chipset. 

Redmi Note 11 Series: Xiaomi 11i, Xiaomi 11i HyperCharge

The Xiaomi brand is planning to revamp the popular Redmi Note series in the country by launching different versions of the Redmi Note 11 series in the country. The company also recently rebranded their Mi series to Xiaomi wherein all the Mi phones will now be called Xiaomi series. Redmi Note 11 Pro and Redmi Note 11 Pro+ will launch in India with rebranded nomenclatures: Xiaomi 11i and Xiaomi 11i HyperCharge.

Redmi Note 11 Pro+ features a 6.67-inch 120Hz AMOLED panel with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus on top. Redmi Note 11 Pro+ will pack in a 4,500mAh battery with 120W fast charging support, a 108MP main camera sensor, an 8MP ultrawide camera and a 2MP 50mm telephoto camera. 

OnePlus 10, OnePlus 10 Pro

OnePlus 10 Pro pre-orders to begin on January 4. Pete already shared the news on his Weibo account, writing “see you in January” along with a hashtag for OnePlus 10 Pro hinting at OnePlus 10 series launch in January. OnePlus 10 and 10 Pro India launch will happen sometime later, expected probably by February. OnePlus 10 Pro will come with a 6.7-inch Quad HD+ 2K LTPO AMOLED display offering 120Hz refresh rate with a single punch-hole cutout. The design has already been leaked. OnePlus 10 Pro will come with a new square shaped camera module and will have triple cameras and an LED flash.

It will pack in a triple camera setup featuring a 48MP primary sensor, a 50MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and an 8MP telephoto lens with 3X zoom. OnePlus 10 Pro is said to have a 32MP selfie camera running on Android 12 OS with ColorOS 12 out of the box. Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset with up to 12GB LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB UFS 3.1 storage and will pack a 5,000mAh battery with IP68 rated water resistance and support 80W wired charging and 50W wireless charging support.

Realme 9 Series: Realme 9i, Realme 9, Realme 9 Pro

The next generation Realme 9 series will launch in India in January/February 2022, and it will include multiple smartphones under the series. Realme 9 series will include four devices: Realme 9i, Realme 9, Realme 9 Pro and Realme 9 Pro+. It has already been reported Realme 9i launch will happen in January 2022 globally, and the main duo, Realme 9 Pro+ and Realme 9 launch could happen together. Realme 9 Pro+ 5G recently was found on the NBTC listing leaking out a few key specifications and has been certified by the NBTC and now found listed on the CameraV5 platform. 

Realme 9 Pro+ will sport a 50MP main camera and 16MP sensor upfront, as revealed in the CameraV5 listing. It will have a wide-angle camera and a macro camera/a monochrome sensor in the main setup. The company earlier confirmed Realme 9 and Realme 9 Pro launch will happen in early 2022. 

Realme GT 2 Pro

Realme GT 2 series will be launched globally on January 4. Realme GT 2 Pro will come with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset with a 6.7-inch AMOLED display offering 120Hz refresh rate with a triple rear camera system including a 50-megapixel Sony IMX766 sensor with OIS support, a 50-megapixel ultrawide camera and an 8-megapixel telephoto lens. The upcoming Realme phone will sport a 32-megapixel sensor.

At the last event, the company confirmed Realme GT 2 Pro will have a bio-polymer material on the out, a 150-degree ultrawide camera equipped and a fish-eye mode and 360 degrees NFC. 

Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra

The next generation Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra is said to launch in the first quarter of 2022. Tipster Jon Prosser previously leaked in a recent tweet, and the Galaxy S22 Ultra launch will take place on February 9 next year. Prosser has stated that the delay could be due to supply chain issues. Samsung’s upcoming flagship will see a major design overhaul, no camera module, a Galaxy Note like design and a new S-pen.

Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra in the US will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset or the Exynos 2200 chipset (in India) and succeed Samsung S21 Ultra.
