Record 401,000 Foreigners Become Permanent Canadian Residents In 2021: 116% Higher Than 2020

Canada met its target of granting 401,000 foreigners permanent residency in 2021!
Canada is working on plans to target temporary residents already in the country, Immigration Minister Sean Fraser said on Thursday.
Canada Focuses On New Permanent Residents
Permanent residents in Canada can take advantage of high-paying jobs and tax benefits, retirement benefits. They are also protected under the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms.
According to a statement from the immigration minister, new 401,000 permanent residents were previously in Canada on temporary status.
“Last year, we set an ambitious goal. Today, we achieved it,” Fraser said.
Canada’s Economy Expanded For The Sixth Consecutive Year!
The administration has stated that it expects to attract 411,000 permanent residents to the country next year.
Official data released earlier on Thursday indicated that Canada’s economy grew for the sixth month in a row in November.
