Android 13 Features Leaked: Set Different Language For Different Apps, Notifications Banned Without Consent

While Android 12L is in its Beta phase, Android 13 has already gotten its first look! Screenshots from an early build of Android 13, and they have revealed some unique features about the new Android update.

The Android 12 boasts of faster app launches, better privacy, improved battery longevity, new translation features, app and device sharing.

The first feature, codenamed “Panlingual” will enable users to set a separate language for every app instead of having to keep one single language to apply universally to all apps and menus. Additionally, this would also offer multilingual users more options within the Languages and Input” menu which is accessible through the “App Info” screen.

Android 13 might also come with a new feature wherein notifications could become an opt-in feature in the future. Therefore, apps won’t be able to spam users with notifications without their consent. 

The screenshots show that “Notifications” is included as a permission, which can be denied, allowed and also revoked after some amount of time.

Android 13 To Come With New Layout?

The Android 13 will also come with a new layout for the lock screen clock. Android 12 comes with changes to the “two-line” layout – it changes to a single line when a notification appears. Whereas, in Android 13, the two-line clock layout can be disabled entirely!

Android 12 is now open-source, which enables most smartphone companies to get Android 12 code for their own user interfaces. Samsung’s OneUI, OnePlus’s OxygenOS, and Xiaomi’s MIUI will now develop an Android-12 based version for their respective smartphones. The new Android 12 Go edition lightweight operating system (OS) is tailor made for cheap, low-end devices and will be available in affordable entry-level smartphones in 2022. The low cost phones will have better battery life and storage since the OS will hibernate unused apps.
