Banks Will Be Closed For These 6 Days In The Last 10 Days Of December: Check Full List Of Bank Holidays

As the ten days countdown begins for the new year, you will be amazed to know that all the public and private sector banks across the country will remain shut for almost six days out of the total remaining ten days of this year. 

Less Number Of Holidays In December

After the two months of festivities in the country, this month has a reduced number of holidays. 

To be specific, this month has one holiday, that is Christmas, so all the banks will be closed on this day across the country. 

Basically, holidays are notified every year, according to the RBI guidelines. 

So, this year’s December month has seven holidays, some of them are already exhausted. 

This number also includes the Christmas holiday. 

This year, it is falling on the second Saturday of this month, which is already a notified holiday for banks. 

This way, December month sums up to 12 holidays with seven holidays and six weekend leaves and Christmas overlapping. 

Remaining Holidays And Applicability

Out of these 12 holidays, six days are already exhausted in the first 20 days of this month. 

So the remaining six will fall on the remaining ten days of this month. 

Keeping that in mind, it would be better if you have some bank related work then you should keep a note of the days on which banks will remain open. 

It is also noteworthy here that these holidays are statewise holidays. 

That means, only certain branches of the bank in respective states will remain shut on the mentioned days. 

For instance, there is a Christmas holiday on 24 December in Aizawl and Shillong. 

But, banks in other parts of the country will remain open that day. 

Basically, these holidays come into effect according to the list released by RBI. 

The central bank has given seven days of holidays this month. 

The other six are weekend leaves including four sundays and two saturday falling on second and fourth saturday.

Below is the full list of remaining bank holidays for this month. 

1. 24th December – Christmas Holiday applicable to Aizawl and Shillong. 
2. 25th December – Christmas holiday for Guwahati, Hyderabad, Imphal, Jaipur, Jammu, Kanpur, Kochi, Kolkata, lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, New Delhi, Panaji, Patna, Raipur, Ranchi, Shillong, Shimla, Srinagar, Tiruvanantpuram
3. 27th December- Christmas celebration Aizawl
4. 30th December – U Kiang Nangbah Shillong
5. 31st December – New year eve Aizawl

The remaining one leave is Sunday on December 26.
