iPhone SE 3 Is Apple’s Most Affordable Phone; Price Under Rs 30,000? (Camera, Specs, Launch Date)

If rumors are to be believed, a new iPhone SE could arrive in the first half of 2022.

The third gen phone could also be Apple’s most affordable 5G phone which could finally capture a significant chunk of Android users.

The following details are not fact, rather they are rumors and speculation from those informed about Apple products.

However, all the rumors do have one thing in common- that the phone will support 5G connectivity.

Design

The design is to be the same as the present iPhone SE, meaning it will retain Touch ID on the Home Button and a variant of the Starlight and Midnight colors.

Analysts speculate that the phone would feature the same 4.7-inch LCD display with the iPhone 8-like design.

Processor, Storage

The current iPhone SE uses the A13 Bionic but the new one could feature the A15 Bionic chip, the same as the iPhone 13 line.

There is not much buzz swirling around storage options as of now, but the current model offers 64GB and 128GB options.

Since the iPhone 13 line starts at 128GB, the new SE could follow the same trend.

Camera

There is no word regarding camera specs either, but it will likely have the same design as the iPhone 8 which features only one main sensor.

One can only hope that since the current SE features only a single 7MP front-facing camera, Apple could sprinkle in a 12MP sensor in the new one.

Other additions Apple fans would enjoy are Night Mode, Cinematic Mode, and Photographic Styles.

Launch

TrendForce, a market research brand which typically provides scoop ahead of upcoming, unreleased Apple products, said in November that Apple could announce the iPhone SE 3 in the first quarter of 2022.

It makes sense since Apple usually schedules its launches in the first quarter of the year, such as the original SE which debuted in March 2016 and the second-generation version in April 2020.

Price

Nobody has a definitive answer for this one either, but since it’s touted to be Apple’s cheapest phone, it’s likely to remain at a price point of $399 (around Rs 30,000).

If it sticks to this figure, JP Morgan’s analysis of Apple potentially “turning a billion Android users into switchers” could become reality.

Furthermore, it could also pose a threat to Samsung’s dominance in the mid-range smartphone market in India.
