Mahindra Can Launch This New SUV At Rs 10 Lakh! 2 Litre Engine, Off-Road, 6/7-Seaters & More (Launch Date?)

It has been a good year for Mahindra. They received massive success with XUV700 & the new Bolero Neo. And now Mahindra is preparing a wide range of new models for the Indian market. According to the recent announcement made by the company, it is preparing to launch 13 new utility vehicles including 8 new electric cars/SUVs. One of the important launched in the upcoming months is going to be the next version of the legendary Scorpio.

Mahindra to bring in a new model of Scorpio

In the first half of 2022, most probably around June-July, we will witness a launch of the new Mahindra Scorpio 2022 model. According to a report, the new Scorpio will be offered as a 7-seater as well as a 6-seater version. The six-seater SUV might have a captain seat in the second row.

The next-gen Scorpio will be equipped with features like 360-degree camera, dual-zone climate control, push-button start, a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone connectivity, an LED lighting system, sequential turn indicators, and an electric sunroof. The new model will also come with 6 airbags, Terrain modes, and connected car features.

At the same time, the SUV might not be added with some features like panoramic sunroof, ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System), and 10 speaker sound system. For now, the company has kept many features exclusive to XUV700 SUV.

The new Scorpio will witness a significant facelift

According to spy images surfaced on the internet, that the new Scorpio will have an off-road drive mode selector, which could offer 4 off-road drive mode settings. The drive modes could include Rock, Snow, Mud and 4 High and 4 Low for the 4WD system.

The new Mahindra Scorpio will be significantly bigger. It will be based on the new ladder-on-frame chassis that also forms the core of the new Thar lifestyle SUV. The new Scorpio will come with a de-tuned version of the 2.0-liter 4-cylinder mHawk turbo engine that powers the XUV700 MX variant. The new Scorpio engine will produce 155bhp and 360Nm of torque.

The new Scorpio might also be offered with a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that will produce around 150bhp and 300Nm of torque. It will come with two variants in gearboxes, a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic. All variants except the top model will be rear-wheel-drive models, while the top-spec model will get All-Wheel Drive system.
