Xiaomi unveiled a new battery technology!
Xiaomi’s R&D team has been working on the new battery technology in a short Weibo post. Xiaomi was able to triple the amount of silicon in the battery, resulting in more efficient capacity storage.
There is no official statement regarding the availability but it should be available by next year.
This New Battery Can Fit About 10% More mAh
The new battery can hold around 10% more mAh in the same size! Just not that it delivers an additional 100 minutes of usage on a single charge.
The packaging technology has also been updated, resulting in even greater space savings. The PCM (protection circuit module) has been tilted at 90 degrees and no longer sits flat, allowing for more space savings.
Xiaomi Will Be Able To Control The Battery’s Temperatures?
Xiaomi has included a fuel gauge chip in the new battery!
What does it do?
It uses complex algorithms to improve the safety and the life span of the cells while monitoring overnight charging.
Now, this prevents the device from becoming overcharged if it is left plugged in for too long. Thanks to extra sensors as Li-Ion batteries don’t like heat and it helps in Temperature control.
