According to the company, EV sales would increase by 53 per cent by 2028, and Hyundai India has already begun a comprehensive electrification journey.
Hyundai India To Launch Six Electric Cars By 2028!

As we continue to redefine the mobility space, today we are yet again showcasing our commitment towards Indian customers with the announcement of expanding our BEV line-up to 6 vehicles for the Indian Market by 2028,” he further added.
Commenting on the announcement, S S Kim, MD and CEO, Hyundai Motor India Ltd said.
E-GMP (Electric Global Modular) platform
In India, Hyundai’s planned electric vehicles, which will be available in both the mass and premium segments, will be built on modified platforms as well as a special E-GMP (Electric Global Modular) platform.
The iONIQ 5 will be built on the E-GMP platform, which will feature a vehicle chassis, battery, motor, and power electric system.
The battery has a capacity of up to 77.4 kWh, and it has two-wheel and four-wheel drive capabilities, as well as improved handling and the ability to achieve 260 km/h.
Hyundai’s electric car launch will be based on their existing lineup of ICE (petrol/diesel) vehicles. There is no official statement regarding Hyundai’s existing cars will be launched as an electric car
Hyundai would also invest Rs 4,000 crores in India as part of its electrification ambitions.
