Tata Motors Increase Price Of Cars By 2.5%: Only These Cars Will Be Expensive!

Tata Motors has announced that it will be increasing the prices of commercial vehicles. The prices will reportedly be increased in the range of 2.5%.

This change will be applicable from January 1, 2022.

Tata Motors To Introduce Price Hikes For Commercial Vehicles

Tata Motors will be applying this price hike across medium and heavy commercial vehicles (M&HCV), intermediate and light commercial vehicles (I&LCV), small commercial vehicles (SCV) and buses, based on individual model and variant of the vehicle.

As per the company, the automobile manufacturer has introduced an increase in the prices because of the increase in the prices of steel, aluminium and other precious metals, in addition to higher costs of other raw materials.

As per Tata Motors President Passenger Vehicles Business Shailesh Chandra, “Prices of commodities, raw material and other input costs continue to rise. An appropriate price hike to at least partially offset this increase in costs seems inevitable in the near to short term.”

We had earlier reported that to mitigate the impact of rising commodity costs, Tata Motors, the automaker decides to raise the price of its commercial vehicle range beginning October 1, 2021.

The price of the commercial vehicles of tata motors will raise from October 1, 2021.

“The effective price hike, in the range of 2%, will be implemented basis the model and the variant of the vehicle,” the company said in an exchange filing.

Maruti, Audi, Mercedes To Increase Prices Too?

In addition to Tata, Maruti Suzuki, Audi and Mercedes-Benz have already announced that the prices will increase.

In Maruti Suzuki’s case, the price increase will vary for different models.

But there is no word yet regarding the quantum of the hike.

Luxury automaker Mercedes-Benz said that a select few of its models will be costlier by up to 2 per cent due to feature enhancement and rising input costs.

Meanwhile, Audi will increase price up to 3 per cent across its entire model range, citing rising input and operational costs.

It is set to take effect from January 1, 2022.
